Autocolor paint code 8JV2B is a paint with a clearcoat. Variations of this code can include 8JV2 for a solid color paint, 8JV2M for a single layer metallic, 8JV2B followed with a clearcoat, 8JV2G including a groundcoat, and the rare 8JV2T for a 3-coat process. Multiple codes with different single-character suffixes indicate the use of multiple processes/finishes. Autocolor has been providing paint since 1883, and was part of the Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in Britain. PPG bought them out in 1999, and changed their name to Nexa Autocolor in 2002.
