PPG code IM10 - gray brown
This gray brown automotive paint color is most commonly known as Tuscarora Gray. The only reference of this paint is in a "Ditz-Lac Intermix Formulae" chip book from 1939 (note: this is a cool book with all Ditzler IM prefix paint codes from 1928 to 1939 with updates for later years). IM10 is a paint code for PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass) who has been providing automotive paints since 1924 (originally Ditzler Color Company subsidiary acquired in 1928). PPG/Ditzler codes starting with the letters "IM" indicate Ditz-Lac colored lacquers and polychromatics (fine aluminum powder added) and were used before 1940. IM10 is the tenth paint Ditzler/PPG assigned to the IM prefix code list.
