This blue automotive paint color is most commonly known as Coolie Blue. The color formulation has been used between 1928 and 1933, primarily by Chevrolet; but also by Hupmobile, Chrysler. See the full detailed list below. The use of this paint is for main body and trim color.

IM1 is a paint code for PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass) who has been providing automotive paints since 1924 (originally Ditzler Color Company subsidiary acquired in 1928). PPG/Ditzler codes starting with the letters "IM" indicate Ditz-Lac colored lacquers and polychromatics (fine aluminum powder added) and were used before 1940. IM1 is the very special color, it is the first paint Ditzler/PPG assigned to the IM prefix code list.
