This is one of the paint colors used in US government procurement. Today these colors are specified by Federal Standard 595 documents. FED-STD-595 came out in 1956 with 358 colors; FED-STD-595A, in 1968 with 437 colors; FED-STD-595B, in 1994 with 611 colors; FED-STD-595C, in 2008 with 650 colors; and AMS-STD-595 in 2017 with 692 colors.

25914 is a paint code for PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass) who has been providing automotive paints since 1924 (originally Ditzler Color Company subsidiary acquired in 1928). PPG/Ditzler codes from 10000 to 95000 were used on new paint formulations starting in the late 1930's and extending to around 1968. PPG/Ditzler codes in the 20000 to 29999 range are primarily shades of brown, beige, and cream. These PPG codes serve as a great way to track the usage of paint between and within vehicle manufacturers.
