Ditzler code IM101 - gray
This gray automotive paint color is most commonly known as Norman Gray. Another common paint color promotional name is Bellaire Gray. The color formulation has been used between 1929 and 1931, primarily by Chrysler; but also by Plymouth, DeSoto. See the full detailed list below. IM101 is a paint code for PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass) who has been providing automotive paints since 1924 (originally Ditzler Color Company subsidiary acquired in 1928). PPG/Ditzler codes starting with the letters "IM" indicate Ditz-Lac colored lacquers and polychromatics (fine aluminum powder added) and were used before 1940.
